Shed 13 is part of the Room 13 International network of artists and art studios. Shed13 is run by Dani our Resident Artist who came to Cricket Green in 2009. Dani has worked with many young artists throughout the years, helping them to express themselves through art. Dani assists the students with their artwork introducing them to different mediums, styles and cultures through art and expression.

Shed 13 is a creative arts studio where students of all ages can go to express themselves by exploring different types of art including Batik, oil painting, acrylics, pen and ink, pottery and lots more.  Shed 13 is also a place pupils can visit during break and lunch times to chill out and chat to their friends whilst working on their artwork. Alongside break and lunch time sessions we also have scheduled art groups from each key stage visit the shed throughout the week.

The Shed is run by the Shed13 committee (made up of our students and Dani). The committee members meet up fortnightly to discuss fundraising, future art trips, job roles and responsibilities. They help to choose art materials, take care of the fundraising and the organisation of all future exhibitions and outings as well as discussing what they’d like to do in Shed 13.

Enterprise is important in Shed 13. The committee run a stall at our school events and every spring we have a Shed13 exhibition at the Norman Plastow Gallery in Wimbledon village.

The students make and sell handmade cards, textiles, paintings, ceramic pots, magnets and jewellery. Any money that is made goes into the Shed 13 bank account, so that the children can choose and order more art materials for the Shed and plan creative activities. The artwork always looks brilliant – reflecting the vibrant atmosphere and the talents of our pupils.

Dani has forged excellent links with local primary schools and has run collaborative art clubs with Bond, Aragon, Benedict and Liberty primary schools.  Dani also worked with an EBD group from a local primary school to help develop their self-esteem and confidence.
