School Sport Partnership

Merton School Sport Partnership (Merton SSP) is located in London Borough of Merton and was established in September 2003. Merton SSP have hosted and very well supported by our Sport Specialist College, Harris Academy Merton. 


Our vision is to inspire our young people to achieve their best within sport and physical activity through the provision of high quality PE, coaching, leadership, extra curricular activity and competition.

                                             Jon started working at Cricket Green School in 2015 after previously working for Merton                                              School Sports Partnership as an Intern, specialising in Disability.


                                             Jon Graduated from the University of St Mark and St John (Marjon) in Plymouth, 2013.                                                  He studied Sports Development and coaching, developing his knowledge of coaching,                                                specifically within disability sport.


Jon works throughout the school, and is always looking to improve the sports facilities in some way. Jon predominately coaches with KS1/2, but also enjoys taking the older children to competitions and the gym. 


Jon has a level 2 qualification in swimming, as well as a range of level 1 badges including Baseball golf and a number of CPD’s (continuing professional development) in a number of disability sports.


Jon has also had a taste of coaching in various sports prior to starting with the partnership. Jon has a great passion for participating in sport and has swam competitively for 6 years, and had reached the trial stages with Team GB for the Beijing Paralympics in the 100m breast stroke!


He enjoys all sport and loves to join in wherever possible.
