It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Cricket Green School.  We were once described as “Like school. Only better!” and that's what we like to believe we offer to all our pupils and families.

Cricket Green is a thriving and outstanding special school, which offers learners the opportunity to grow and develop in an environment where they and their achievements are valued. Pupil well being is at the heart of all we do as we strive for all our learners to be happy, develop skills and competencies for life and grow in to secure and confident young people taking their place in society.

In 2010, 2013 and 2017 Ofsted judged us as an “Outstanding School”, praise doesn’t get any better than that but it hasn't stopped us striving to do better to continue to make Cricket Green a happy and outstandingly successful school. We surround ourselves with remarkable people and have amazing pupils! OUTSTANDING 2010 -2017 !!!“

Ofsted Nov 2017

The enthusiasm of the staff impacts positively on the pupils, who respond by being keen and eager to learn.

The headteacher, staff and governors are wholly committed to ensuring that pupils achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils, both in their academic studies and in their personal development.

Dear All,

I am so looking forward to the return of our pupils and young people on Monday morning! These past few months have been so strange and challenging for us all, and I have no doubt they have brought all of you many personal challenges.

We have spent much time in preparing our school for this return. Through following the Government Guidance and making necessary changes, our aim has been to making Cricket Green as safe as it can be. I have shared below this message the risk assessments we have in place. Staff have been made fully aware of what needs to change and what new routines we need to follow, and I am confident we will all do our very best to continue to create a school where children and young people do not only feel safe, but will also thrive.

It will help use enormously if you closely follow the guidance we sent out to you. We will post a copy of the letter we sent out in July on the website for your reference.  By the end of this week we will have a better idea of how the new routines are working out. There is also constant new Guidance. We will advise you of any changes as they happen.

On this last weekend before school starts, can I wish you all a happy time with your family and a safe return on Monday. School gates will be open from 8.30am and staff will be here to meet you.

With my thanks for all your kind wishes of support last term. They were much appreciated.

Best wishes,

Mrs Celia Dawson
