It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Cricket Green School.  We were once described as “Like school. Only better!” and that's what we like to believe we offer to all our pupils and families.

Cricket Green is a thriving and outstanding special school, which offers learners the opportunity to grow and develop in an environment where they and their achievements are valued. Pupil well being is at the heart of all we do as we strive for all our learners to be happy, develop skills and competencies for life and grow in to secure and confident young people taking their place in society.

In 2010, 2013 and 2017 Ofsted judged us as an “Outstanding School”, praise doesn’t get any better than that but it hasn't stopped us striving to do better to continue to make Cricket Green a happy and outstandingly successful school. We surround ourselves with remarkable people and have amazing pupils! OUTSTANDING 2010 -2017 !!!“

The enthusiasm of the staff impacts positively on the pupils, who respond by being keen and eager to learn.

The headteacher, staff and governors are wholly committed to ensuring that pupils achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils, both in their academic studies and in their personal development.

Dear All

I hope this finds you all well and staying safe. And maybe able to enjoy some sunshine!

You will have heard on the news last night that the Government is reopening schools from 1st June for some year groups of children. This DOES NOT apply to special schools. We will NOT be opening in this way. We will continue to offer places for Key Worker children as we have been doing.

We are happy to talk to anyone if they wish to discuss their individual children. Please e mail office@cricketgreen.merton.sch.uk and someone will call you to discuss

We are currently keeping our numbers low to reduce risk to children and adults. We recognise that complying with all aspects of the expected social distancing is a challenge for our children.

We are working on how we can, as safely as possible, return to some kind of normality.

*** Updated CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION - Friday 29th May ***

CoronaVirus (CoVid-19) and School Closures

This involves working through the guidance and working with the local authority and Governors to plan our next steps. We will keep you informed every step of the way.

We are also planning how we can transition your children to new staff for September. We will be sending out packs, ways you can work or talk with your child to prepare them for a return, whenever that might be. We will also be making videos with staff so that they can tell you about the plans for next year.

All our decisions are being based on guidance together with our knowledge of our children and young people. We long for the day CGS becomes a joyous and buzzing school again, but we will take our time and do it safely.

My thoughts and best wishes are with you all.

Celia Dawson
